Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 7, 2025

At IPTV Player, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle your information when you use our Chrome extension and related services.

1. Information We Don't Collect

IPTV Player is designed with privacy as a core principle. We want to be completely transparent: we do not collect any personal information from our users.

Specifically, we do NOT collect:

  • Personal identification information (name, email address, phone number, etc.)
  • Browsing history or website visits
  • IP addresses or geographic location data
  • Device identifiers or hardware information
  • Playlist content or channel viewing history
  • Usage analytics or statistics
  • Cookies or tracking data

2. Information Stored Locally

All data used by IPTV Player is stored exclusively on your local device using Chrome's storage.local API. This includes:

  • Playlist Information: Names, URLs, and channel data from imported M3U/M3U8 files
  • User Preferences: View mode settings (list/grid), debug mode toggle, last selected playlist
  • Favorites: Channels you have marked as favorites for quick access
  • License Status: Your license type (Free, Pro, or Lifetime) for feature unlocking

This data never leaves your browser and is not accessible to us or any third parties.

3. Network Requests

The Service requires permission to access network resources for the following purposes:

3.1 Playlist Import

When you import a playlist from a URL, the extension fetches the M3U/M3U8 file from the specified address. This request:

  • Is initiated only when you explicitly provide a URL and click import
  • Is made directly from your browser to the target server
  • Does not route through our servers
  • Does not include any identifying information

3.2 Streaming Content

When you play a channel, the video stream is loaded directly from the channel's source server:

  • The stream connection is between your browser and the streaming server
  • We do not intercept, proxy, or monitor these connections
  • Stream quality and availability depend on the source server

3.3 Channel Logos

Channel logos specified in M3U files (tvg-logo attribute) are loaded from their respective URLs:

  • Logo images are fetched directly from their hosting servers
  • No data is sent to these servers beyond standard HTTP requests

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Payment Processing

When you purchase a Pro or Lifetime license, payment processing is handled by Paddle, our payment processor. During checkout:

  • You provide payment information directly to Paddle
  • We receive only your license status and purchase confirmation
  • We do not have access to your payment details

Please review Paddle's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle payment data.

4.2 Chrome Web Store

The extension is distributed through the Chrome Web Store, which is operated by Google. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for information on how Google handles extension usage data.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data:

  • All data is stored locally using Chrome's encrypted storage API
  • No data is transmitted to external servers
  • The extension's code is open for security review
  • We follow Chrome Web Store security guidelines

However, please note that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

7. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store your personal data on our servers, traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) do not apply in the typical sense. However, you have complete control over your local data:

  • Access: All your data is visible within the extension interface
  • Correction: You can modify playlists, favorites, and settings at any time
  • Deletion: You can remove playlists and clear all data through the extension settings
  • Export: Playlist data can be exported through standard Chrome extension management

To completely remove all extension data from your device:

  1. Right-click the IPTV Player icon in Chrome
  2. Select "Remove from Chrome"
  3. Confirm the removal

This will delete all locally stored data associated with the extension.

8. International Data Transfers

Since all data is stored locally on your device and no data is transmitted to our servers, there are no international data transfers. Your data remains on your device under your control at all times.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.

If we make material changes to how we handle data, we will provide notice through the extension or via email if you have provided one for support purposes.

10. GDPR Compliance

For users in the European Union, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • We do not collect or process personal data, minimizing GDPR obligations
  • All data processing occurs locally on your device under your control
  • No automated decision-making or profiling is performed
  • No data is transferred to third countries

If you have any GDPR-related concerns, please contact us using the information below.

11. California Privacy Rights

For California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • We do not sell personal information
  • We do not collect personal information
  • No data is shared with third parties for business purposes

12. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us:

  • By email: support@iptvplayer.app
  • Through the Chrome Web Store support channel

We are committed to protecting your privacy and will respond to all inquiries within 48 hours.

Summary

In short: IPTV Player is designed to be as private as possible. We don't collect your data, we don't track your usage, and we don't share anything with third parties. Your playlists, favorites, and preferences stay on your computer and nowhere else.
